In 1999, while recovering from a dance injury, Cherilyn Zaretsky took her first yoga class at the studio across the street from her apartment in New York City, Dharma Yoga, and never looked back. What she once used solely for physical exercise and rehabilitation, has now completely changed her life.
After several years of practice, she completed her 200 hr certification with Sri Dharma Mittra and continues her studies as often as possible while being a Mother to two children. She enjoys leading several levels of dharma yoga and her own flow classes.
Drawing on her current career as a mental health therapist and former professional dancer, Cherilyn enjoys 'choreographing' fun, challenging asana sequences while always bringing awareness to the mind/body connection. Be prepared to move a lot and think outside of the edges of your mat. Yoga is so much more than the physical and it is our hope that each of Cherilyn's students will discover something new about themselves each time they step onto their mat.
