Animal Tracking Workshop

January 27, 2019, 10:00am – 1:00pm

Save the date! TurnPark invites you to a unique animal tracking workshop in the snow on Saturday, January 27th from 10am - 1pm.

In this outdoor event, take a stroll through TurnPark and see who else is enjoying the space.
Join experienced tracker Josh Wood as we explore habitats within the park to find animal tracks and clues that reveal a wealth of information about local wildlife. Josh will teach us to identify animals by their tracks, recognize scat and other animal signs, and recognize animal gaits and patterns.

Whether you're approaching the art of tracking for the first time, or have been tracking for years, this class offers something for you!

Josh Wood is a local wildlife tracking enthusiast, teacher and Program Director of Flying Deer Nature Center, in East Chatham, NY. He enjoys sharing the thrill and knowledge of tracking and trailing with others, and peering into the lives of our local fauna through tracking. He leads a monthly Tracking Club, an annual weekend long Winter Tracking Intensive, and has presented at the Northeast Wildlife Trackers Conference.

"By following an animals path through the landscape, we become participants in the countless interactions between species. We find ourselves happily tangled up in nature."
