The white pine is a beautiful native tree whose bark provides wonderful material for folded baskets. In this introductory basketry workshop we will use pieces of flexible white pine bark to create small pouches and containers by folding and sewing. Colorful birch bark and other materials can be added for rims and as well as decoration. Katie will also discuss how to choose a small tree to harvest, peel the bark, and prepare it for making. Connect to your own creativity in a welcoming environment to make a unique and beautiful gift for yourself or a loved one.
