Acoustic night at TurnPark Art Space with John Clarke and John Roberts
John Clarke has been making art and music since the mid 1990s. His love of singing, melody, and his fascination with song structure is clearly evident in his writing. John has a deep love for classic rock-and-roll bands and for modern classical composers, drawing inspiration from artists like The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Arvo Part and Max Richter.
His method of writing - letting the melody craft the SOUND of the lyrics and then working to uncover the words from the sounds - makes the lyrics feel inevitable.
John was the front man for the band Bell Engine and, more recently, The Best Times.
For the acoustic concert at TurnPark Art Space John will be joined by his long-time musical collaborator and close friend John Roberts. The two Johns met in college back in 1991 and have had many adventures together. This intimate acoustic night in a gallery setting, surrounded by Clarke’s visual art, is a rare opportunity.
Thank you for joining us.
The show will be broadcast later on Tom Ferris' radio show on WBCR in Great Barrington.
